tatra khalu bhagavān āyuṣmantaṃ śāriputram āmantrayati sma / asti śāriputra paścime digbhāga ito buddhakṣetrāt koṭiśatasahasraṃ buddhakṣetrāṇām atikramya sukhāvatī nāma lokadhātuḥ / tatrāmitāyur nāma tathāgato 'rhan samyaksaṃbuddha etarhi tiṣṭhati dhriyate yāpayati dharmaṃ ca deśayati /
そのとき、世尊は尊者シャーリプトラに対して話しかけられた。「シャーリプトラよ、この仏国土より西方に、十万・千万の仏国土を過ぎて、極楽と名づける世界がある。かしこに、アミターユス（無量の寿命をもつ者）と名づける如来・応供・正等覚者が、今、住し、とどまり、時を過ごし、そして法を説いておられる。
§2. Then Bhagavat addressed the honoured Śāriputra and said, 'O Śāriputra, after you have passed from here over a hundred thousand koṭīs of Buddha countries there is in the Western part a Buddha coutry, a world called Sukhāvatī (the happy country). And there a Tathāgata, called Amitāyus, an Arhat, fully enlightened, dwells now, and remains, and supports himself, and teaches the Law.
དེ་ནས་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་ཀྱིས་ཚེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་ལ་བཀའ་སྩལ་པ། ཤཱ་རིའི་བུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞིང་འདི་ནས་ནུབ་ཕྱོགས་ལོགས་སུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་ཞིང་བྱེ་བ་ཁྲག་ཁྲིག་ཕྲག་འབུམ་འདས་པ་ན་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ཁམས་བདེ་བ་ཅན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ཡོད་དེ། དེ་ན་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་དགྲ་བཅོམ་པ་ཡང་དག་པར་རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་ཏེ་འཚོ་ཞིང་གཞེས་ལ་ཆོས་ཀྱང་སྟོན་ཏོ། །
de nas bcom ldan 'das kyis tshe dang ldan pa shā ri'i bu la bka' stsal pa / shā ri'i bu sangs rgyas kyi zhing 'di nas nub phyogs logs su sangs rgyas kyi zhing bye ba khrag khrig phrag 'bum 'das pa na 'jig rten gyi khams bde ba can zhes bya ba yod de / de na de bzhin gshegs pa dgra bcom pa yang dag par rdzogs pa'i sangs rgyas tshe dpag med ces bya ba bzhugs te 'tsho zhing gzhes la chos kyang ston to //
さうしてそれから世尊は長老舎利子に仰せられた。舎利子よ、この仏国土から西方に当つて十万千万億の仏国土を過ぎて、極楽世界と称せられる処があって、そこには如来降伏敵者完全円満の仏陀無量寿と呼ばれる方が居られて生存せられ、法をも示されてゐる。
On that occasion, the Bhagavān said to the venerable Śāriputra, “Śāriputra, if you go from this buddha realm past 100,000 myriad buddha realms toward the western direction, there is a world known as Sukhāvatī (The Delightful). In that place the Tathāgata, the arhat, the perfectly and fully enlightened buddha known as Amitāyus (Immeasurable Life), dwells, lives, and abides, teaching the Dharma.
爾時仏告長老舎利弗。従是西方過十万億仏土。有世界名曰極楽。其土有仏号阿弥陀。今現在説法。
爾時世尊告舎利子。汝今知不。於是西方去此世界。過百千倶胝那庾多仏土。有仏世界名曰極楽。其中世尊名無量寿及無量光如来応正等覚。十号円満。今現在彼安隠住持。為諸有情宣説甚深微妙之法。令得殊勝利益安楽
